What better ingredient to work with at this time of year than pumpkin! This recipe for pumpkin hummus will make for the perfect addition to your holiday table this year. It’s a definite show-stopper, but it only takes a few minutes to put together. Score!

As far as what to dip in your pumpkin hummus, the options are pretty limitless. You can cut up celery, carrots, or jicama. You can even put it on fruit like apples. Or cucumber slices. Or lettuce wedges. Or bell pepper slices. Or…you get the idea. Get creative, and have fun eating healthy!

Pumpkin Hummus

Ingredients

  • 1 15oz can of pumpkin puree or 1 half of a cooked pumpkin pureed
  • 1 15oz can chickpeas rinsed and strained
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic roughly chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp sea or Celtic salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of cumin
  • Pinch of garam masala

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. (You can leave it a bit chunky if you prefer that texture.)
  2. Enjoy!
