Welcome to our six-part breathing technique series. Each of these videos is only two to three minutes in length. In each, we share a simple, but powerful breathing exercise. By bringing an awareness to your breathing, you can take charge of your body, energy, and life.

Using Breath Work to Create Calm and Healing

For our fourth breath, we’re learning “segmented breath.” This breath is powerful if you are feeling disconnected, un-grounded, and like you could use a dose of feeling more “in” your body. Practicing this breath will create calm and promote a sense of healing.

We’re going to inhale four breaths through the nose, and then we’ll exhale through the mouth. Don’t worry if that sounds complicated — I’ll demonstrate the breathing and you can follow right along.
