Welcome to my living room workout series! Each week, I share a workout from my personal exercise routine — and then do it in real time so you can follow along. These workouts are optional and are simply one of the many ways you can accomplish your daily exercise.

Living Room Workout 26

Surprise! This week, we’re exercising outside. But don’t worry, if the weather isn’t as good for you or you can’t get outdoors for whatever reason, you can still do this workout indoors.

This is a high-intensity interval workout that lasts 14 minutes. We’ll do 7 rounds of 1 minute of work and 1 minute of rest. Each interval looks like this:

  • 20 seconds of burpees
  • 40 seconds of running (shuttle runs or running in place doing high knees)

Go as hard as you can on each interval, because you’re going to get a full minute of rest following each bout of work.

That said, remember that all these workouts are about listening to your own body and going at the intensity that’s right for you. So don’t go harder than your body really should! You can always remove the jump from the burpees and/or do the push-up portion of the burpees from your knees.
