Life is all about energy, and when you need to change the energy in your space — whether it be an emotional or physical energy shift — the power of the breath can help. Focusing on my breath is actually my go-to energizing device. For over two decades I have been using the breath to change my energy with great success.
Sometimes we just don’t wake up feeling energetic or our energy shifts downward over the course of our day. But our lifestyle may demand we show up with energy. What if you need to lead a meeting, teach a class, liven up for a workout, or focus your creative energy for a project? The two breath exercises I show in this video are guaranteed to energize you in minutes:
- The first exercise is simple and easy. If you do it in public, it will offer a smile to others watching, too.
- The second exercise involves something called breath mantras, and is a bit more daring, so you might practice it on your own until you get comfortable. The more you can exaggerate it, the more you will get out of it. It can be done publicly, too, but don’t feel “wrong” if that takes some getting used to.
Why do I keep mentioning doing these in public? Because I do it all the time. I share what I am doing and invite others to participate. You would be surprised how often people join in and then thank me for including them in the process. The mere act of you asking is an excuse for people to let go and have fun. In addition, doing these exercises with other people creates an even greater shift of energy that benefits everyone.
